Follow Friday: Allyson From Printable Happies
Hello friends and Happy Friday!

So a few weeks ago I started something new called "Feature Friday." I started it because I know so many incredible makers, and I wanted to do little mini-interviews to share about them with you!

So if you haven't met Allyson before, she is the creative and founder behind Printable Happies, an adorable product shop! She handletters and designs all of the products in her shop (and my goodness, she is the queen of coming up with a ton of original designs). She has a sweet and playful spirit, and I love how that comes out in all of her products. She is an iced coffee connoisseur, loves Gilmore Girls and Fixer Upper like nobody's business, and I'm excited for you to get to know her a little more!

Can't wait? Check out her links here: website | etsy | instagram | pinterest

Allyson and I have been Instagram friends for a few years now (I don't exactly remember when we started following each other, just glad we did). We've become each other's product besties! Y'all, I can't even begin to describe how amazing it is to be able to text or DM someone and say, "Hey, where did you get this? Or how did you solve this issue? Or have you ever tried X, and how did it work?" Seriously, its a game changer! Even though we're in similar field, I feel like our friendship is the very definition of #communityovercompetition. I've shared ideas and sources with her, and she has done the same for me. We've shopped from each others shops for gifts and person items, and I'm just so thankful to know her!

Anyways, without further adieu, let's get to the interview!

What do you do and how did you get started?

I create fun and quirky hand lettered designs and I sell them on apparel, home decor and drinkware! I have been a self employed artsy gal for 9 years now, but Printable Happies is fairly new. I got it going in one day because I was so excited! I started out on Etsy but now I have my own website, so that's exciting!

What’s one tip you would share with a fellow entrepreneur, or someone interested in your field?

Remember that it takes time. Years, even. I feel like we all want overnight success, especially when we're so excited about what we're doing. I still have to remind myself of this daily because I can get so discouraged if goals don't get met in my timeframe. Remember that it's ok if it takes a while and don't rush. Do your best work! :)

How do you drink your coffee?

Ahhh! Whether I drink it iced or hot, I just add the Delight Caramel Macchiato Creamer to it. I don't even add sugar, it's that good to me!

I'd love to know, what does a typical day in the life look like for you?

6:00 A.M. I usually wake up at 6am every day and start my day with a little prayer and bible reading! It truly starts my day off right and I have so much more peace because of this routine.

7:15 A.M. Depending on how long my Bible reading is for the day, I'll either start work at 6:30am and work until 7:15-45! If I don't work early that day, I'll just rest in bed with my coffee :)

8:15 A.M. Around 8ish, I eat breakfast and then put on real clothes aka yoga pants and a tee. :) Breakfast lately has been cereal, but occasionally I love to have oatmeal!

10-4:00 P.M. Between this time frame I’m usually doing a mix of different things! I work on blogging, adding new products, taking photos, etc until lunch. Then about 3 I’ll get on the treadmill for a mile or two.

4:30 P.M. Dog walk time! My family dog has to have a routine ( he’s almost 12! ) and so between 4:30-5 is when we need to take him for his evening walk and then give him dinner. He’s getting older, so I’m cherishing every moment, even when he’s barking too much. :)

5:15 P.M. After the dog is fed, I usually go ahead and call it a day. I take night showers ( never have like morning ones! ) and I’ll usually put on a facemask when I’m done and listen to a podcast while the mask does it’s thing! :)

6:15-8:30 P.M. Ahh, this is my chill time! After my facemask and such, I’ll usually eat a small dinner/snack, then cozy up in bed with either NCIS or Gilmore Girls on repeat! Those are my go to shows, but on Tuesday nights I watch Fixer Upper, of course. :)

9-10:30 P.M. I plug my phone away from my bed at this time, and even though I leave the tv on when I sleep this totally helps! Disconnecting like this is so helpful for me since I’m on my computer/phone all day for work. I fall asleep usually no later than 10:30! :)
